Theft
The crime of Theft is set out in Texas Penal Code Section 31.03 and a conviction can effect your rights and privilege’s. There are not many defenses to theft, however some of which can be lack of intent consent, and mistake of fact.
any form of theft conviction, even theft of $50, is a crime of moral turpitude. A felony conviction for theft means you can NOT Vote, Hold Public Office, Serve on jury, Obtain a Passport and Posses a firearm.
Being arrested for a Crime Involving Moral Turpitude does not mean that all is lost. you may have options to keep a conviction off your record. If you have been charged with a theft crime it is important to seek legal counsel.
