Texas penal code chapter 22 set out assault crimes in Texas. There are not many Defenses for Assault which are self-defense, defense of others, defense of property, duress, necessity, and insanity. in some cases You can be sentenced between two and 20 years and a fine of $10,000 and you will have to be registered as a sex offender. An aggravated sexual assault carries with it a prision sentence between 5 to 99 years
